There was limited space for your luggage. Overall the bus driver and staff behavior was good. But the bus conditions were bad. On such intense roads, the government should immediately launch risk-free safe buses. The buses had no space for your heavy luggage. It was recommended for daily commuters, people with 2 small bags, that was all.
Extremely disappointing experience with government bus service | Bus No. 8630 | Kolkata to Siliguri This was my first journey by a government bus from Kolkata to Siliguri, and unfortunately, it was an extremely disappointing experience. 1. Late arrival and unnecessary stops The bus arrived at the boarding point one hour late. Although it was fully booked both online and at the counter, it continued stopping at numerous small and major roadside locations, including bridge-side stops, to pick up local passengers. Even after bypassing Raiganj and Islampur, we reached Siliguri only after 10 PM. There was no significant traffic congestion or unusual Puja-related rush to justify such a delay. 2. No proper lunch break during a long journey This was another major concern. We boarded the bus at around 8:30 AM for a journey expected to take approximately 12 hours. The bus stopped at Krishnanagar around 10 AM for breakfast. Since it was too early for lunch, I assumed there would be another meal break later. However, the bus never stopped at any proper place for lunch. I was travelling with two children, who were left without a proper meal for several hours. At one point, the bus stopped at a location with only toilet facilities. Fortunately, I searched nearby, found a fruit shop, and bought bananas for my children, but by then it was already quite late. The situation became even more frustrating when the bus later stopped at Kishanganj for almost 30 minutes without providing any clear explanation to the passengers. If the staff needed to make a lengthy stop at Kishanganj, why could a proper lunch break not have been arranged earlier? Passengers travelling with children also need food and basic comfort during such a long journey. It felt as though the staff considered only their own requirements and treated passengers travelling from Kolkata as if we were invisible—as though we did not get hungry or need a proper meal. 3. Extremely rude behaviour When I politely requested that the staff maintain the schedule, explaining that I was travelling with two children who were becoming unwell after spending so many hours on the journey, their response was shocking: “Neme jaan gari theke” (Get off the bus). Instead of addressing a genuine concern, they responded rudely to a paying passenger. 4. Concerns about ticketing practices I also did not see the conductor issue tickets through the POS machine after collecting fares from local passengers. I request the concerned authorities to verify whether all applicable ticketing procedures were followed. 5. Where is accountability? We pay taxes and fares for public transport, yet passengers are expected to tolerate unnecessary delays, poor journey planning, inadequate meal breaks, and disrespectful behaviour. This was my first journey on a government bus from Kolkata to Siliguri, and it has left me deeply disappointed. A government bus service should provide reliable transportation and treat every passenger with dignity, regardless of where they board or how far they travel. I request the concerned transport authorities to investigate this incident, review the conduct of the staff of Bus No. 8630, verify the ticketing practices, and ensure proper meal breaks and passenger-friendly service on long-distance routes. Passengers are not invisible. We pay for this service, and we deserve punctuality, basic facilities, proper meal breaks, and respectful treatment.
I hate your service.
The worst service experience in my life with nbstc bus number 8360, arrived 45 minutes behind schedule and it was like travelling in a local was picking and dropping passengers at all local bus stops,it was having tour of north 24 pgs, nadia and murshidabad, whole baharampur town was toured whereas in night service,it touches baharampur bypass.it took more than six hours to reach malda from krishnanagar, worst than local bus,so you can imagine what was our experience.never ever will I board morning bus and you should also avoid this disgusting service
Bus timings and bus condition should be better.
Bus operator didn't provide us any water bottle. Rest was good.
Worst experience ever in bus.
Worst journey ever! The bus was delayed by hours with zero updates. The seats are broken, filthy, and the suspension is non-existent—every bump feels like a shock to your spine. Extremely reckless driving on mountain curves and rude staff. Save your money and mental peace, take a shared cab instead.
Seat of handle was very bad. Bus was not hygienic at all.
Bus is not good. Bus condition is not good. Bus cleanliness is not good.
