It was the worst experience ever. As a girl, travelling solo, I felt so unsafe the whole night journey. The bus conductor called me at XXXX and reminded me to reach soon as the bus would move out at 7:30. I reached at 7:15 and stood near khanapara public toilet, the location I was given. I called the conductor and they said they were stuck in traffic which was understandable. The bus reached khanapara at 7:50 and stood at the flyover ending, never came at khanapara public toilet so I tracked the bus and again went to the flyover ending to board the bus. There was this guy standing in the bus door. I asked him to let me go in and told him I was heading for Margherita. That guy told me that this bus would not go to Margherita and he did not let me in the bus. I told him that I booked this bus online and that I wanted to talk to the driver but he did not let me in and stood in the door blocking me from entering. I was frustrated and it was already 8 pm. I called the conductor and asked him the bus number and colour and it was that bus only. I asked the conductor to come out of the bus and the conductor came out to confirm. So, I went to confront that guy and told him why he was standing in the door and did not let me in. The conductor came and started arguing with me saying he was just a passenger not a conductor and why I was scolding him. So I told the conductor what he did and he was not letting me in the bus and the conductor told me that he was a passenger and it was his wish wherever he stood. The conductor was literally arguing with me even after he saw that the guy was literally standing in the door blocking me. And the guy was not even a passenger, he had no ticket, no online booking. He sat in the driver's seat without any ticket. And while the conductor was arguing with me, he stood there just smiling. I called my parents and asked the conductor to talk but the conductor started showing attitude and said he would not talk to my parents and then started speaking in Assamese. Then I asked the driver to talk. The driver talked to my parents and said he would take care of it. The driver was kind but the conductor was so rude to me. I doubt that the guy with no ticket was the conductor's lover the way he was arguing with me even after that guy literally did not let me board the bus. I paid extra for this bus because I thought it was a primo bus and probably safer but I was wrong. Women in this country are never safe. Even in Durga Puja, women are getting harassed. Solo girls travelling, please be careful while travelling through this bus. I was scared and frustrated the whole journey.
